Design Engineer

Our client a rapidly growing and leading manufacturer of firearms and has an immediate need for an experienced Design Engineer located in Yonkers, NY.  In this role you will design and develop complex, non-derivative new products and support improvements to these products in the first years of production. Evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency, quality and reliability with a strong focus on brand reinforcement. Proven firearms design experience is required.

Senior Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of project milestones, resource requirements, budget and timing
  • Define product configuration and part geometry using 3-D CAD software. Develop and manage complex mechanisms.  Create fully dimensioned drawings using GD&T
  • Utilize best practices, including DFM, DFA, and stack analysis; interface with manufacturing, process engineering, and vendors to ensure designs are optimized for cost, quality, and performance
  • Use advanced analysis tools to fully qualify high risk areas of the designs, such as non-linear finite element analysis and design of experiment techniques
  • Develop technical product specifications and validation test plans
  • Outline and execute empirical testing to verify concepts, ensure reliability, and refine component design
  • Support manufacturing during initial production of products introductions
  • Participate in business initiatives for non-routine aspects of assignment and overall business improvements to reduce overall new product development project timing and costs
  • Take direction from Senior Engineers and Team Leaders on assigned projects

Senior Design Engineer Education & Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will possess at least 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a team environment.
  • Experience with SolidWorks design package
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T
  • Solid understanding of configuration control principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of stage gate product introduction methods
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical software a plus
  • Must be organized and maintain accurate and neat records and files
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Able to function and work in a team environment. Capable of working without supervision.
  • Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline

  • As part of a cross-functional team, provide expert technical leadership for Product Introduction and process improvement projects as related to company’s NPD program
  • Support the development and execution of project milestones, resource requirements, budget and timing
  • Define product configuration and part geometry using 3-D CAD software. Develop and manage complex mechanisms.  Create fully dimensioned drawings using GD&T
  • Utilize best practices, including DFM, DFA, and stack analysis; interface with manufacturing, process engineering, and vendors to ensure designs are optimized for cost, quality, and performance
  • Use advanced analysis tools to fully qualify high risk areas of the designs, such as non-linear finite element analysis and design of experiment techniques

  • Manage bills of material and track component status
  • Support manufacturing during initial production of products introductions

  • Assign project related tasks to entry-level engineers and technicians, and monitor progress leading at times multiple design teams.

Senior Design Engineer Education & Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will possess at least 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a team environment.
  • Expert Solidworks user
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T
  • Solid understanding of configuration control principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of stage gate product introduction methods
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical software a plus
  • Must be organized and maintain accurate and neat records and files
  • Able to communicate effectively

Product Manager – Handguns

Our client is a rapidly growing and leading manufacturer of firearms and has an immediate need for an experienced Product Manager located in Yonkers, NY. In this role, the Product Manager will be the resident champion and voice of the customer internally.  As such, the Product Manager supports the category’s strategic planning, oversight and performance throughout the product line life-cycle. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the Sales and Marketing efforts align with and strengthen the brand.

Product Manager Position Key Responsibilities

  • The Product Manager supports the development, execution and measuring of the annual product business plan which will define product, price, promotion and distribution based on assigned metrics.
  • The Product Manager will coordinate efforts with existing functional departments to ensure the success of new products and the overall strategic product plan.

Product Manager Additional Responsibilities

  • To keep category offerings viable in the marketplace, the Product Manager will understand the target consumer, identify trends, exploit opportunities, and benchmark competitive products.
  • Be the in-house category expert and act as the category leader within the company.
  • Must be voice of the customer and ensure the customer’s viewpoint during planning.
  • Develop initial sales forecast, pricing, and gross profit to meet company objectives.
  • Define the product strategy in annual plan. Outline and refine 5 year plan.
  • Monitor ongoing plan execution, note deviations and pursue remedies.
  • Develop product positioning and feature/benefit messaging, and ensure effective delivery of messages through marketing and sales.
  • Work closely with sales on pricing and forecasting to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Help specify market requirements for current and future products through market research supported by ongoing customer and channel feedback.
  • Plan and execute successful product launches.
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition and emerging relevant technologies
  • Manage the New Product Development process for assigned verticals.
  • Advise on an itemized advertising and promotional budget to ensure the success of annual product plan.
  • Collaborate on the creation and distribution of sales tools and collateral in support of marketing objectives including point of purchase.
  • Brief and train inside sales force.
  • Perform product demonstrations to key customers.
  • Assist marketing and sales departments with product training and related materials. Attend relevant promotional events and new product introductions.
  • Attend industry trade shows and select store level promotions.

Education & Other Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will possess at least 3-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Firearms experience related to firearms, firearm manufacturing, and end-user applications.
  • Experience with consumer products: firearms – outdoor market experience a plus.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office suite, MS Project, Photoshop and Keyshot.
  • Preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree

Site/Civil Project Engineer

Site/Civil Project Engineer

Location: Wilmington, NC

Alliance Career Group, Inc. has an immediate need for a Project Engineer in its Wilmington operations.

In this position, the candidate will work directly with Project Managers, other engineers, technicians and surveyors to assist in the development of construction documents for a variety of projects in the utilities, commercial, retail, residential and industrial markets for private, state, municipal and federal sector clients.

Education/Experience: 

Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering and at least three years of experience on various utility and/or site design projects.

Specific design experience required includes; water and wastewater utilities, site layout, grading, storm drainage, storm water management, erosion control, and permitting.

Experience with technical software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow Storm Sewers/hydrographs, Pondpack, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.

Qualifications: 

Registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina or Engineering Intern (EI)

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Assist with Planning, designing, and coordinating projects

Participate in preparing project budgets and schedules

Researches and implements regulatory agency development requirements

Checks all technical work for accuracy

Focuses on quality and helps Insure QA/QC procedures are followed

Our Engineering & Construction Client has an immediate need for a Survey CAD Technician in its Raleigh, Wilmington, and Charlotte Practice. In this position, the candidate will work directly with surveyors, engineers, and other technicians to assist in the development of survey plats and construction documents for a variety of projects in the private, state, municipal and federal sectors.

Key Qualifications for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Microstation
  • Experience processing filed data and developing drawings for survey projects
  • Experience working on NCDOT survey projects and an understanding of the NCDOT standards
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Works well under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills

Transportation Surveying Project Manager

Location: Raleigh, NC

Salary: $60k – $80k D.O.E

Our Engineering & Construction Client has an immediate need for a Survey CAD Technician in its Raleigh Practice. In this position, the candidate will lead survey technicians in performing field survey operations, survey data processing and mapping.

In addition they will:

  • Perform QA/QC functions to assure deliverables meet company, State and client standards.
  • Development of cost estimates and preparation of technical proposals for land surveying projects.

The candidate must have these basic qualifications/requirements:

  • Experience performing surveying and mapping of transportation projects for NCDOT.
  • Microstation and Geopak proficiency.
  • A minimum of 10 years survey experience with at least 1 year experience as a Survey Project Manager.
  • Proven track record of successful survey project management
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NC Professional Land Surveyor licensure.
  • Associates Degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology
  • Route, boundary, and topographic field survey and office experience.
